Cafe Rouge Planning Application
There has been a planning application for the old Cafe Rouge site on the corner of Station Road and Portsmouth Road.
The application is for “Development to provide to provide a detached seven-storey building comprising flexible commercial (E) or drinking establishment uses on ground floor and basement level and up to 38 residential (C3) units on upper floors, with associated car parking, cycle storage, refuse/recycling storage and landscaping following demolition of existing building (for Access only).”
The full application can be found on the Elmbridge planning website under 2021/2814.
The ERA will be reviewing the application in depth and submitting our response.
There are already 34 objections registered. If you also object, please do submit a response.
I object to the proposed seven story planning application on the grounds of its height which is totally out of scale with the surrounding area. I would consider that a three story building is the maximum that should be permitted.

I object to the height of the proposed building – it is out of scale with adjacent buildings.
