Garden Waste collection resumes
Do not believe what you might read elsewhere as the Garden Waste Collection service resumes.
| Letter from the Council’s Chief Executive sent to all Garden Waste Subscribers: “I am delighted to share our plans for the gradual resumption of the Elmbridge garden waste collection service. I know the service suspension has been unsettling and disruptive for you, however after much hard work and determination, we are now in a position to gradually reinstate the service. The general situation and availability of HGV drivers is improving allowing us to provide a four weekly garden waste collection service starting in March 2022. I know this is still not the fortnightly collection you signed up for, but once again I ask for your patience while we rebuild a robust service able to collect garden waste every two weeks. Your next garden waste collection Your collection is due to happen week commencing (NB this given date varies upon your address) on your usual collection day. If the crew are delayed in getting to you, please leave your bin out until it is picked up, we will keep our website updated with relevant information. After March, your next monthly collection will then be week commencing (NB this given date varies upon your address). By the end of April, we will contact you again with further service and collection details. What about my subscription? You don’t need to do anything about your subscription. We are extending contracts to reflect the suspension and monthly service. We will send you a separate update on this by the end of May. Please be assured that we are continuing to work for the full restoration of the garden waste collection service and in the meantime, I thank you again for your understanding and patience. Great news and just ready for the lawn cutting Spring renewal!
My own collection is due to happen week commencing 14 March and then the next monthly collection will be the week commencing 11 April.

Happy its back to its usual fortnightly cycle from this week. Not everyone uses the service of course but for those that do it’s well worth the money
