West End Car Club
There is a hardy bunch of petrolhead classic car owners in the village of West End (Esher) collectively known, not surprisingly, as the West End Motor Club! A Club with no committee, no rules, no membership fee, just like-minded enthusiasts gathering for a natter, scenic run, or roadside repair with frequent refuelling of beer (low alcohol or otherwise!), coffee and obligatory bacon rolls! We are an eclectic mix of owners with vehicles ranging from the humble Austin 7 to the elegant Rolls Royce.

Our roots go back to about 2005 when a small group of residents displayed their cars at the West End Flower Show, and we continue to put on a vehicle display bi-annually at what is now known as the Summer Show on August Bank Holiday Saturday. Other local owners have boosted our numbers, and we now attend other local events, drive out for pub lunches and organise other outings. Annual weekends away have been enjoyed in past years to places in both the UK and Europe.
In January we visited the newly refurbished Prince of Wales pub in our own village of West End and in February we will be present at the 50th Anniversary celebrations of Concorde at Brooklands Museum with visiting dignitaries.
We encourage owners to use their cherished cars as the enjoyment is driving them regularly, not losing them to gather dust, and worse the dreaded rust, hiding unused in the garage. So, if you’re a local classic car owner, charge up the battery, pump up the tyres and come and join us for weekly Tuesday breakfasts, currently at Brooklands Museum, or for a chat and a pint at the West End Sports and Social Club every Thursday evening. The more the merrier!
