The census happens every 10 years and the next one is due in March. It provides a snapshot of all the people and households in England and Wales and helps in planning community needs and allocating funding for public services, such as new schools, doctors’ surgeries, etc.

The Office for National Statistics (ONS) runs the census in England and Wales and is independent from government. Your details are protected by law and information published is always anonymous.

Census Day is going to be Sunday 21 March 2021. I believe that they are expecting most people will fill the census in online this time and they will be posting access codes to us. Hopefully there will be help available for those who are not able to use the internet.
